Silo Park public toilets
Yes, you correctly read the title.
While on a night walk in my home neighbourhood of Wynyard Quarter, on a crisp fall night that hinted of winter to come, I photographed the public toilets of Silo Park.
The silhouette of trees on the doors to the left first caught my eye.
The lower frame of speckled cement and hard wood staircase magnified the possibilities of artistic alchemy: from service utility to art form.
Finally, the golden patina of the metal doors.
One need only look closely and dare to imagine.
