NZ Visual Diary - entry 159
Ascending Descending
My first entry in this substack (NZ Visual Diary - entry 1) featured a view down an alleyway off of Queen Street. Prominent in the image is a light installation, a cluster of blue lights that resemble soap bubbles.
A spiral staircase hugs the back wall of the alley. Fascinated as I was by the art installation, I did not venture into the alley to study the staircase. On today’s walkabout I rectified that omission.
The image found at the top of the post is a playful rendering of the staircase, a photographed captured as I leaned precariously over a railing to frame a bird’s-eye view of the impressive structure.
