NZ Visual Diary - entry 184
sculpture patio aside UAuckland science building
I ask forgiveness - this photograph has too much visual information. It is arguably two distinct photographs: the dramatic presentation of architectural facades across two University of Auckland science & engineering buildings and diminutive table-top figures in the adjacent patio.
The buildings are representative of the university’s effort to eschew faux classical or minimalist modernism architectural styles.
The sculptured figurines are delightful, especially the two reclining figures on the centre table. I imagine that I am one of them, deep in repose and reflection as I admire the two buildings.
