late afternoon - Wintergarden passageway
I am a huge fan of the Chinese photographer Fan Ho. His black & white photographs of Hong Kong in the 1950s and 1960s are extraordinarily beautiful. Fan Ho sought natural light in the alleys of Hong Hong at daytime’s bookends - early morning and late afternoon - when the sharp contrasts of light and shadow were most pronounced.
I felt Fan Ho’s gentle tap on my shoulder as I walked about the passageways of the Wintergarden in the Auckland Domain. The late afternoon rendered its gift and I did my best to capture its playful dance of light and shadow.
I didn’t know about him! Excellent photo and resource !
