International Buskers Festival

Auckland recently hosted an international buskers festival, inviting street performers from Japan, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, to entertain crowds with their remarkable skills.

The buskers performed at various sites within the city-centre district. I attended a show on my home turf in the Wynyard Quarter.

Yldor from Catalonia (Barcelona Spain) held a large audience in rapt attention at the Karanga Plaza along Auckland’s waterfront. I was most impressed when Yldor rode his bicycle seated backwards and then while standing on its handlebars.

A young girl, who stood motionless during Yldor’s entire performance, shared my admiration for his awesome athleticism.
