window & sculpture garden
My wife and I were recently in Wellington visiting a friend Anne Else. Anne is a long-time activist and distinguished scholar.
Anne took us to Seatoun, an eastern Wellington suburb. A charming village of seaside cottages and fantastic vistas, Seatoun is also the site of a horrible marine tragedy. In 1968, an inter-island ferry, the Wahine, foundered off the shoreline in bad seas and 53 of 734 passengers were killed.
Our day in Seatoun was thankfully less eventful. That said, I did have an out-of-time moment when I happened upon a fantastical scene. With my day-for-night image displayed here, I have attempted to capture the phantasmagorical quality of the gorgeous spherical sculpture reflected in a set of triptych windows adorned with stained glass panels.
Woa. Wooooaa this one is outof this WORLD good
