busking - Te Komititanga Square
I captured this image some time ago, but I retain the memory of the moment.
In constant but controlled motion atop his precarious perch, the busker instructed the young girl to focus on him and think about the arc of the toss. Concentrate first on the motion of her arm - the glide of backward motion; the evenness and power of the forward thrust; the release of the hoop, fingers pointed at him to help ensure the accuracy of the toss; eyes fixed on the trajectory from ring to busker’s hand.
Her toss was balletic, no less graceful, athletic and assured than a prima ballerina.
And while the busker was forced to bend low to grab the ring, catch it he did.
This is so playful!!!!
