The Puzzle Master’s Shop | Rawene | Northland
With our grandson on holiday in Samoa with his immediate family, Randolph & I took the opportunity to travel with a dear friend to the west coast of Northland, as the name suggests the northern most region of New Zealand. We stayed at our friend’s bach (a Kiwi term for beach home) in Omapere and toured about the greater Hokianga Harbour area, including a delicious morning in the town of Rawene.
Rawene is home to the Puzzles, Games & FUN shop. Its owner, Louis Toorenburg, is a charming man whom I took to calling the puzzle master. A fellow raconteur, Louis and I greatly enjoyed each other’s company. When he has the time and energy to get away, Louis is likely off to some distance destination (recently Paris) for the annual International Puzzle Party (IPP). He is the creator of numerous puzzle boards.
