NZ Visual Diary - entry 382
produce street vendor (Cuba)
It has been several months since I last reviewed my Cuba portfolio, and I decided to take a fresh look at my images. It appears that I neglected to consider this street vendor photograph as carefully as I should have.
While the produce street vendor and his cart take centre-stage, the figure at the edge of the first floor balcony, along with the solitary figures that anchor the right and left edges of the image, also compete for the viewer’s attention. I love the balanced arrangement of the people, positioned as they are to pin the cardinal points on a photographic compass.
It is one of my favourite images of my Cuba portfolio.
