NZ Visual Diary - entry 392
bar scene - Vulcan Lane
I enjoy photographic glimpses into bar rooms. You have to be a closet voyeur to engage in the art of street photography.
A compositional element of this image first attracted me. The central three figures form a profane version of the ‘passionate triangle’ as deployed within, among other eras, the Renaissance style of religious-themed painterly works.
The combination of a tightly defined space and splash of decorative artefacts also caught my eye.
