rainbow bus stop - K Road
The rainbow bus stop, located on Karangahape (K) Road in Auckland, was constructed as part of the rainbow path project within the K Road transport improvement programme. The K Road rainbow path acknowledges and celebrates the centrality of diversity and inclusion within the histories of K Road residential, civic and business communities.
The legal and social history of homosexuality in NZ is as complex and tumultuous as it has been in other countries.
I wander often to K Road to photograph the vibrancy of its cultural and creative scenes.
