Lovely image Rich. I should send to you some of my b&w images which I shot at Versailles and the Buffalo (NY) art museum back in the 70’s. It’s all about composition, lighting and balance and less about the content. It’s how I see things when I’m shooting a movie too.
Thank you, Roberto, for such kind praise. I would love to see your images from Versailles and Buffalo. As much as I try to produce successful street photographs, and on rare occasions manage to capture a satisfying street image, I find the most enjoyment when working at the nexus of photograph and architecture. I'm just not quick enough to compress that small window of time between seeing a street scene and capturing it with camera. I greatly admire those photographers who succeed at it. My visual language has always been grounded in geometry. Learning how to see light and feel balance within geometries has been a very joyful education.
