NZ visual diary - entry 54
Federal Street - exterior alcove
Federal Street is a narrow passageway running in a north-south direction parallel to Hobson Street to the west and Albert Street to the East.
Twin sentinels flank Federal Street, the ANZ Centre at the north end approaching the harbour and the former ASB Centre at the south end of the street. The former ASB Centre is now home to Auckland City Council, which occupies some 30 floors of the building.
At the corner of Federal And Wellesley West one discovers an expansive covered entrance to the office tower. The entrance itself is worthy of photographic representation.
Here I have elected to feature a lower-level exterior space along the Wellesley Street boundary with Federal Street.
I found the alcove quite appealing, both for its sharp angularity and robust geometries.
