NZ visual diary - entry 84
remembrance of things past - Victoria Street West
Passing an abandoned building always leaves me depressed.
Pausing to study an abandoned building whose architectural beauty is breathtaking renders me irreconcilable.
And so it was, as I exited Elliott Street at Victoria Street West, I came upon a lovely neo-classical building, adorned with gorgeous architectural features, that appeared to be quite forgotten.
From oriel window to roof-line dentils to elegant lentils this building is unabashedly effusive, a feast for the eye.
And yet, it appears neglected, quite forsaken. As I learn more about the building's provenance and future, I will provide an update.
For now, enjoy the proud remnants of past glory.
