NZ visual diary - entry 94
air - Auckland Central Library plaza
Late Spring . . . or is it early summer . . . in the second week of the school term break and the skateboarders are out in force looking for any flat shelf from which to launch.
I watched for some time as the disciplined boarder practiced his technique while his mate filmed each takeoff.
I love the distressed look of the building row that flanks the west side of the plaza. I say as much to my wife whose face in response reveals its own palette of distressed features. I can read in her expression the look of a woman whose husband has wandered too far into a shadowy world.
I will need to produce some colour images, and soon, to allay her anxiety.
