A good friend, who has had a very successful career as a director of photography, responded to my post about the Saint Francis statue in Havana by suggesting that the image would be more effective as a colour rather than a black & white photograph.
When you have a mate who has forgotten more about a subject, in this instance photography, than you will ever know, it is best to consider seriously his advice.
So, I ask y’all, my dedicated followers, to decide.
Which version of the image do you prefer?

The black and white image speaks to the sparsity of St Francis however the colour image give depth and perspective. They feel completely different but individually resonant.
Personally I prefer the colour image
